The Carnival Fascination is a ship of the Carnival Cruise Lines. It was placed as the fourth of eight ships of the Fantasy class in service.
History
The ship was built under the hull number 487 as Fascination on the Finnish Kvaerner Masa Yards AB in Helsinki. The order for the construction was issued in September 1991. In 1993 the keel was laid on 27 June 1994 and was handed over to the Carnival Cruise Lines, based in Monrovia, Liberia. Just four weeks later, on 24 June 1994 made the Fascination in New York and was baptized shortly before the maiden voyage on 1 October 1994 by the wife of the interior designer of the Carnival fleet, Jeanne Farcus. From autumn 1994, San Juan, Puerto Rico, the output port for the cruises of the vessel.
2000, sailing under the Panamanian flag ship was re-registered on the flag of the Bahamas with her home port Nassau. The cruise started in the following years from Jacksonville, Florida.
In November 2007, the ship was renamed the Carnival Fascination.
Restructuring in 2006
In September 2006, the ship was equipped with a multi-million U.S. $ renovated comprehensive budget. In the 1026 cabins new LCD screens were installed, the bathrooms and the furniture were replaced. The " Coconut Grove Bar and Grill" received new carpets and upholstered furniture. The "Imagination" and "Sensation" dining rooms also received new carpets, upholstered furniture and a new sound system. In addition, they built on the " Empress Deck" a new bar with the name " Grand Atrium Bar ". On the promenade deck, a new café named " Café on the Way " was built. On the sun deck there is a 9-hole mini golf course was built. For the children, a 150 m² " Childrens World" and " Club O2 " was installed on the "Veranda Deck". On the " Embress Deck" opened an art gallery whose exhibits can be bought during the sale on board. The 1100 m² spa area has also been renovated, private treatment rooms were furnished and the whirlpool spas were removed. These are the future be found on the " Lido Deck " and the "Veranda Deck". The stage next to the main pool area on the " Lido Deck" also received a new sound system.
Redevelopment 2010
Between January and February 2010, the ship was modernized again. It received an additional 98 cabins and suites have a balcony and the restaurant have been remodeled and partially extended. To the rear of the promenade deck, which is modeled after a tropical setting, only adult passengers have access.
