The Carnival Liberty (English independence ) is a post -Panamax cruise ship of Carnival Cruise Lines. She was commissioned as the fourth ship of the Conquest - class service and differs from its predecessors by a completely new machinery.

History

Construction and commissioning

Even as the lead ship of the Conquest - class was in the building, the company Carnival Cruise Lines and the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri signed on 29 June 2002 a letter of intent for the construction of the fourth cruise ship of the " Conquest " - class. Use

The Carnival Liberty was the first ship of the company, which was stationed in the Mediterranean. In the summer of 2005, she headed for the base port of Civitavecchia to destinations in the Mediterranean. In October 2005 the ship was stationed after his first Atlantic crossing in Fort Lauderdale.

According to original plans, the Carnival Liberty should start destinations in Europe after crossing the Atlantic in May 2009. As the base ports of Dover and Civitavecchia were provided. Machinery and drive

In the conventionally designed drive system with shaft, fixed propeller, rudder and propeller engines previously used were replaced by more powerful developments of the French company Alstom.
