Casey Pierro-Zabotel
Casey Pierro - Zabotel ( born November 8, 1988 in Kamloops, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player, who was last to the end of 2013 in the Lusatian foxes in the DEL2 under contract.
Career
Casey Pierro - Zabotel began his career as a hockey player with the Merritt Centennials in the Canadian Junior Hockey League British Columbia Hockey League. NHL Entry Draft 2007, he was selected in the third round to 80th position overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins. During his fourth junior season, he moved at the age of 20 years to the Vancouver Giants in the Western Hockey League, one of the top three Canadian junior leagues which constitute the Canadian Hockey League. There he played in the 2008 /09 his most successful season as Pierro - Zabotel scored in 72 games of the regular season 36 goals and 79 assists. His 115 points scorer was the league the most, for which he was awarded the Bob Clarke Trophy as the best points scorer of the Western Hockey League. Within the Canadian Hockey League was merely Yannick Riendeau of the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League successful, which posted 126 points and accordingly the CHL Top Scorer Award won. In the playoffs, Pierro - Zabotel reached with the Vancouver Giants, the Conference Finals, in which the team in six games later Ed Chynoweth Cup winner Kelowna Rockets defeated.
With start of the season 2009/10 he made the jump to the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL third-rate. Already in the following season he had some appearances in the team of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League, the second highest division. In the following years he played the cooperation partner of the Penguins, Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL of the transferred him for a season with the Cincinnati Cyclones and the Bakersfield Condors. Another stop was the Gwinnett Gladiators in the 2012/13 season. In 2013 he was hired because of an injury related absences for five games in the AHL from the Charlotte Checkers. End of the season 2012/13 the Canadians was that the league 's fifth best scorer of the regular season, was first elected to the ECHL All-Star Team.
In 2013, Casey Pierro - Zabotel dared to move to Europe; for one season, he signed a contract with the Lusatian foxes from white water. The contract, however, was dissolved at his request and he left the Foxes in January 2014.
His brother Tuff Pierro - Zabotel (born 1 January 1990) played for several years in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Kootenay International Junior Hockey League ( KIJHL ).
