2009–10 ECHL season

The 2009/10 season was the 22nd regular season of the ECHL. The 20 teams contested in the regular season per 72 encounters. The point of best team in the regular season were the Idaho Steelheads, while the Cincinnati Cyclones won in the play-offs, their second Kelly Cup.

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

  • Toledo Walleye, the successor team of the Toledo Storm, was admitted as an expansion team in the league.
  • The Kalamazoo Wings of the International Hockey League were included as an expansion team in the league.
  • The Dayton Bombers stopped the game operation.
  • The Mississippi Sea Wolves stopped the game operation.
  • The Phoenix RoadRunners stopped the game operation.
