Century is a city in Escambia County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,698 inhabitants ( 2010).
Geography
Century is located directly on the border with Alabama, on the north side lies the town of Flomaton. Century is located approximately 60 km north of Pensacola.
Demographics
According to the 2010 census, the then 1,698 inhabitants distributed in 765 households. The population density was 199.8 inh. / Km ². 39.7 % of the population were white, 56.1 % African American, 0.4% Native American and 0.5 % Asian Americans. 0.3 % were members of other ethnic groups and 3.1% in different ethnic groups. 1.1% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 31.4 % of all households lived in 34.2 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 64.4 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.51 persons and the average family size is 3.20 people.
