Červená Lhota (Třebíč District)

Cervena Lhota ( German Rotlhota ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 20 kilometers south-east of the center of Jihlava and belongs to Okres Třebíč.

Geography

Cervena Lhota is located in the valley of the Lestinsky creek in the southern part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. To the east rises the Čechtínský Kopec ( 661 m), in the southeastern Zubrca (612 m). To the west lies the valley of the Jihlava.

Neighboring towns are Kouty in the north, Čechtín ind Kukla in the northeast, Věstoňovice in the east, and Vartemberk Okřešice to the southeast, and Račerovice Cihalin in the south, and Přibyslavice Hynkov the southwest, Číchov in the west and Bransouze, Leština and Chlum in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Cervena Lhota took place in 1436th The Moravian village was founded numerous after Lhotensystem villages whose settlers were exempt for a certain period of royalties and services to the authorities.

Since 1850 Cervena Lhota belongs to the district Trebitsch / Okres Třebíč.

Cervena Lhota is a Catholic vicarage for the villages Budíkovice, Čechtín, Cihalin and Okřešice.
