Reception

"The idea has charm, but the end result is worth looking into. [ ... ] The songs sound supple produced, but are relatively interchangeable. "

"Overall, and this is the greatest achievement of this work, Childhood's End ' sound very elaborate, disparate and yet how fancy of a piece. The pieces are all presented convincing and appealing and are neither pandering nor gimmicky, giving the sense of hearing is very much in. The only drawback that I can make out, are temporarily a little overexcited and indefinable sounds of some indefinable sound body between guitar and keyboard [ ... ]. "

" ULVER make it [ ... ], a fine balance between childlike light-heartedness, carefree and youthful adventures urge on the one hand, longing for these very well-known with the age, but irretrievable feelings on the other side to produce and thus perfect implementation of the album title. "

"Some already written to meetings, Childhood's End 'represent in the end the question of who need such a cover album, that it allows the originals almost untouched. My answer is: I and very many others, because - Cover or not - every song has a ULVER - soul and the empathic dealing with wonderful original pieces, the quality of the album possibly even increased. [ ... ] At the same time a personal touch dusting and modernize without damaging the core - by voice and gentle changes - Add: a monumental work order. ULVER have met him 100 percent - achieved their goal - at least for me. On the one hand them an excellent and extensive ( pop ) album has managed to make the other songs really want to browse by the originals on Youtoube etc. "
