China State Construction Engineering

The China State Construction Engineering Corporation ( CSCEC ) is the largest construction company and the largest international general contractor, the People's Republic of China.

The CSCEC was founded in 1982 as a state enterprise. 2002 CSCEC from the international trade magazine Engineering News-Record ( ENR) was performed on rank 16 of the world 's largest international general contractor, and ranked 10 of the largest companies in China in terms of sales and rank 12 according to company assets. The company assets as at June 2002 amounted to 74.1 billion RMB, far ahead of the next largest construction company in China. The total turnover of CSCEC since its inception amounted at this time to 434.7 billion RMB, of which 30 % was generated abroad. 2006, the consolidated net sales amounted already to 117 billion RMB (equivalent to 11.2 billion euros or 18.6 billion Swiss francs).

Main lines of business are construction planning and design, project development, equipment leasing, trading, construction supervision and asset management.

More than 66 construction projects carried out by CSCEC received the Lu Ban Award, the highest award in the Chinese construction industry. Already 27 prices of the National Scientific and Technology Advancement Award ( for national scientific and technical progress ) CSCEC has won, including three 1st prize.

The world's CSCEC has numerous branches or subsidiaries. It is divided into five main divisions and twelve traditional core businesses, including eight Group-owned engineering firms and four Design Institute, as well as its own national research laboratory. Busy end of 2002 CSCEC 122,500 employees, of which 62,300 technical and administrative staff and 500 graduates of the China Engineering Academy. Company president is Sun Wenjie.

By March 2008, the Group is planning an IPO in China ( Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges ) in order to achieve the goal by 2010 to include the world's 500 largest companies and the 10 largest general contractors. An international subsidiary of CSCEC, the China Overseas Land and Investment, is already listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and is to be incorporated into the main company in preparation for the IPO.
