Chris Berger

Christiaan David " Chris " Berger (born in April 27, 1911 in Amsterdam, † September 12, 1965 ) was a Dutch athlete. He was before the Second World War to the best European sprinters.

In 1930, Chris Berger international British champion (AAA) over 100 yards and second on 220 yards. His Dutch record in 200 -meter run of 21.1 s was not until 1965 that undercut. Two weeks after his world record Berger dominated the sprints at the European Championships 1934 in Turin. About 100 meters he won in 10.6 s before the German Erich Borchmeyer, he won the 200 meters in 21.5 seconds before the simultaneous Hungary Jozsef sir. With the Dutch 4 x 100 - meter relay team, he won the bronze medal behind the squadrons from Germany and Hungary. From 1930 to 1934 Berger won eight Dutch championship title.

At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936, he left more than 100 meters in the intermediate run.
