Christian Chartier

Christian Chartier ( born December 29, 1980 in St. Lazare, Manitoba ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defender, who was active for the Augsburger Panther and ERC Ingolstadt in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Christian Chartier began his career as a hockey player with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League, for whom he played for three years from 1996 to 1999. During the NHL Entry Draft 1999 Chartier was selected in the seventh round as a total of 199 players from the Edmonton Oilers. He then moved within the WHL with the Prince George Cougars for which he spent two years running.

In his first season in professional hockey Chartier came in the game in 2001/ 02 a total of 65 times for the St. John 's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League action. After three seasons Chartier moved to the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL. In the season 2005/ 06 Chartier also once played for the Manitoba Moose or twice for the Iowa Stars of the AHL.

During the 2006/07 season the defender was the first time in Europe under contract, as it Vålerenga Ishockey obliged from Norway. This was followed by three years in which Chartier played for the Augsburger Panther of the DEL.

In the 2010/11 season Chartier was the ERC Ingolstadt under contract, but returned after the season back to the Panthers. After the 2011/12 season he finished his career.
