Cidlina (Třebíč District)

Cidlina ( German Zidlin, formerly Cidlin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. Lies 14 kilometers southwest of Třebíč and belongs to Okres Třebíč.

Geography

Cidlina is located in the southern part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands in the upper reaches of the creek Jakubovský. To the north rises the Srnčí vrch ( 682 m ) east of the Kozi vrch ( 574 m) and to the west of the V Kopcích ( 669 m). South of the village of Pond Skřípový is rybnik.

Neighboring towns are Čáslavice in the northeast, and Bolíkovice Babice in the east, in the southeast Lesonice, Martínkov the southwest, Horky in the west and Bítovánky in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Czidlin took place in 1356 as the property of Nicholas of Czidlin. Previously, the site belonged to the Louka Monastery, which had already received at the beginning of the 13th century a hooves of Cidlina by Margrave Vladislav Henry. 1364 was a part of the town to the goods in Lesonice that Drslav of Lesonice to Jimram of Jakubov sold, who belonged to a branch of the family of the lords of Pernštejna. From 1415 the town was called Maiori Czygliny because around yet another village Cidlinky existed, which was designated as waste since 1513. During the 15th and 16th centuries were made more changes of ownership. In the neighborhood of the village Dubec, which was called after 1542 was desolate. In the second half of the 16th century also Maiori Czygliny lay desolate.

1624 began the reign Lesonice with the resettlement of Cidlina. Of the 17 farms was 11 farmed again and the corridors of the south of Babice extinct village of Marti Nice were added to Cidlina. Because of the intolerable burdens broke in 1775 in the reign Lesonice an uprising of serfs against the owner Karl Nádasdy from where took part the inhabitants of Cidlina. The uprising was brutally crushed by the military. 1843 lived 254 people in Cidlin. Until the abolition of patrimonial regimes in 1849, the village belonged to the rule Lesonice. Then Cidlina formed with Babice, Bolíkovice and Lesonice a church that was in 1850 assigned to the political district of Znojmo. In 1850 the town had 281 inhabitants, since their number is declining. Parish and school location was Babice. 1875 was the community Cidlina.

In 1880 Cidlina had 233 inhabitants, who belonged to all Czech folk group. Since 1896, the village of the newly established District Commission Moravian Budwitz was assigned. In 1912 Cidlina in a one-class village school to teach at. From 1949 to 1960, the village belonged to Okres Moravské Budějovice and was named after its dissolution associated with the Okres Třebíč. 1980, the annexation to Lesonice. Since the beginning of 1995 Cidlina again forms a separate municipality.
