City of Canterbury

City of Canterbury is a local government district with the status of a city in the county of Kent in England. In addition to the administrative headquarters Canterbury he also includes the cities of Whitstable and Herne Bay and the town of Fordwich.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the existing (but much smaller ) City of Canterbury, the Urban Districts Whitstable and Herne Bay Urban District and the Rural District Bridge - Blean.
