History

As Cleveland Barons, the team played in Richfield Coloseum in Cleveland suburb of Richfield. The Coloseum was built for the Cleveland Crusaders in the World Hockey Association and at that time had the largest seating capacity in the NHL. But the Baron was not destined happiness. After two seasons, the Barons merged with the Minnesota North Stars. The brothers George and Gordon Gund, the owner of the Baron, owner of the North Stars were now.

The Cleveland Barons were the last team in the four major North American sports leagues, which set the game mode.

1991 wanted to move the North Stars in the Bay Area, the Gund, but the NHL put a veto. But were allowed, as a kind of disconnection from North Stars and Barons that some players from Minnesota joined the newly established San Jose Sharks.
