Collonges -sous -Salève is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Collonges -sous -Salève is located at 500 m above sea level. M., about seven kilometers south of the city of Geneva (air line). The village is located on the lower northwest slope of the Salève, east of Drize, at the edge of the Genevois, near the border with Switzerland.

History

Several findings indicate that the municipality of Collonges -sous -Salève been inhabited since the Neolithic period and during the Roman period. The first mention in writing of the village in 1145 under the name colonica about what means " land that is managed by a settler ."
