Copa Centroamericana

The Football Championship Central America (English: Central American Cup, Spanish: Copa Centroamericana ) is a 1991 inaugural registered football competition for national teams of Central America, which takes place in a two year cycle. By 2009, the tournament was UNCAF Nations Cup.

Open to the seven members of the Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol ( Copa Centroamericana ), a subsidiary organization of the CONCACAF. The tournament serves regularly qualifying for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The competition is played in a tournament in any one country to have two groups of three and four teams. The two group winners qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup and then play in a knockout system for the title of Central America Master. The two group Third contest a play- off for fifth grid position for Central America Gold Cup.

Successful team has been Costa Rica with seven tournament victories.
