Copa Colombia
The Cup of Colombia, Copa Colombia, is a Colombian football competition, which was from 1950 to 1953 as well as 1963, 1981 and 1989 played out and is discharged again since 2008. In 1989, he was an alternative to the then broken Championship.
In February 2008, decided the 36 members of the DIMAYOR also mentioned División Mayor del Fútbol Colombiano, organized professional football in Colombia, to call the cup competition to life. The first tournament was held in the same year from March to November. The winner gets a spot in the Copa Sudamericana. The contest is officially named after a sponsor Copa Postobón.
Competition format from 2008
Am Cup competition, the 36 Colombian professional clubs, so the members of the first division and the second division Categoría Primera B participate. The tournament is played in five rounds. All rounds including the final will be played with return game.
The first round consists of a group phase, which is compiled on a regional basis. The clubs all occur in each case once at home and away against each other. Play the first two will qualify for the next round. In the second round, the remaining twelve teams play against each other with a First Place Team Always Away strikes a runner-up. The six remaining clubs three ties are compiled, with the three winners and the best loser for the semi-finals qualify.
Since 2010, also qualify four best third for the second round. This is now played starting in a classic knockout system with the knockout round.

- Group B ( Antioquia and Córdoba): Atlético Nacional Independiente Medellin, Envigado FC, Itagüí FC, Deportivo Rionegro, Jaguares de Córdoba.
- Group C (Santander, Norte de Santander and Boyacá ): Cucuta Deportivo, Boyacá Chicó FC, Atlético Bucaramanga, Alianza Petrolera, Real Santander, Patriotas FC.
- Group D (Bogotá, Girardot and meta ): Millonarios FC, Santa Fe, La Equidad, Bogotá FC Expreso Rojo, Llaneros FC.
- Group E ( Pacific Region): América de Cali, Deportivo Cali Deportivo Pasto, Cortuluá, Depor FC Universitario Popayan.
- Group F ( Caldas, Risaralda, Quindio, Tolima, Huila and Fortaleza FC from Bogotá ): CD Once Caldas, Pereira Deportivo Deportes Quindio Deportes Tolima, Huila Atlético, Fortaleza FC.
