Cor Fuhler

Cor Fuhler (* 1964 in Barger- Oosterveld ) is a Dutch pianist, keyboardist and composer. He is active in the field of jazz and experimental electro-acoustic music. He works with live electronics and also plays self-designed instruments such as the Keyoline, a violin with keyboard.

Fuhler studied until 1989 at the Sweelinck Conservatorium, next he took lessons from Misha Mengelberg. In 1995 he founded the trio Fuhler / Bennink / de Joode with which he recorded the album Bella Gram and the live CD recorded Zilch 1998.

For Wayang Detective, a shadow play Javanese gamelan music and improvisation, he wrote the script and the music. In 1999 he realized the mission of the Huis aan de Werf in Utrecht for the musical theater piece Olympicnic for electroacoustic music, super 8 movie, shadow play and athletes, where the drummer Steve Heather and vocalist Jaap Blonk the participated.

In 1999, he took with DJ Cor Blimey and His Pigeon Album 10 Songs in 62 Minutes and 23 Seconds on. With his group Corkestra ( with Ab Baars, Tobias Delius, Anne La Berge, Andy Moor, Nora Mulder, Wilbert de Joode, Tony Buck, Michael Vatcher ) took Fuhler 2004, the eponymous album.

He was or is a member of the groups Palinckx, Astro Notes, Aardvark, mimeo, the Flatland Kings, the trio Delius / Lovens / Fuhler and Gamelanensembles Wido saree. As a sideman he worked, inter alia, with Tristan Honsinger, George Lewis, Roswell Rudd, Otomo Yoshihide, Jim Denley, Amanda Stewart, Evan Parker, Jim O'Rourke, Christian Fennesz, Simon Nabatov, John Zorn, Bob Ostertag, Jon Rose, Ernst Reijseger, Peter van Bergen, Tobias Delius, I Wayan Sadra, Adama Dramé, Ikue Mori, Mark Feldman, Mr. soul, Jaap Blonk, Keith Rowe, Miya Masaoka and Frances -Marie Uitti.
