Craig Mottram

Craig Mottram ( born June 18, 1980 in Melbourne) is an Australian long-distance runner and multiple Oceania record holder.

He scored his best results in the 5000 - meter race in which he has so far six times (2002, 2004-2008 ), Australian champion. He was also national champion in 2002 over 1500 m.

At the World Cross Country Championships in 2001 he was eighth, fifth in 2002 and ninth in 2004 on the short haul. In 2000 he started in the Olympic Games in Sydney about 5000 m, but different in the run- off. The following year, he reached the semi-finals at the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton about 1500 m.

After it was over 5000 m at the Commonwealth Games become 2002 in Manchester Sixth and at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens eight, he was at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 as a secret favorite and single white runner on this route as once Dieter Baumann African runners could stand up. He won with a strong finish to the bronze medal behind Benjamin Limo (KEN ) and Sileshi Sihine ( ETH).

In 2006, he won the 5000m silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and was ninth over 1500 m. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, he came in the 5000m at No. 13 in the 2008 Olympics, he missed out on the finals.

Even with road races he is successful. From 2003 to 2006 he won four times in a row at the Great Ireland Run. At the Healthy Kidney 10K he is with his victories in 2005 and 2006 so far the only man to have won twice. He also won the 2004 Great Manchester Run and the San Silvestre Vallecana and 2007 the Lucerne City Run.

Craig Mottram is 1.88 meters tall, weighs 71 kg and is a professional lifeguard.
