Cuyahoga-Valley-Nationalpark

The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is located in the northeastern United States. It is the first national park in Ohio and is located near Akron and Cleveland. Through the park, the river Cuyahoga, which means " curved " means in the language of the Mohawk Indians winds.

In 1974, the 134 km ² area has been declared a national recreation area ( National Recreation Area ). On 11 October 2000 it was created the National Park. Popular with visitors include hiking and biking on the 30 km long towpath Towpath Trail, which was a part of the 496 km long Ohio - Erie Canal earlier.
