Crater-Lake-Nationalpark

The Crater Lake National Park is located in the U.S. state of Oregon. It covers the area of Mount Mazama volcano and the crater lake 594 meters deep Crater Lake in the caldera. The highest point is the 2722 meter high summit of Mount Scott in the east of the park.

The Crater Lake National Park was established on 22 May 1902.

Within the park there are many hiking trails and a number of campsites and lodges. Fishing and swimming are allowed, and there are boat trips to the Wizard of Iceland, the volcano amidst the lake. The Rim Drive, the road around the lake can be blocked until late spring due to snow.

Crater Lake in 2006 was chosen to represent the state of Oregon on the State Quarter ( a commemorative coin ).
