In Cyprus, there was always a public finals for the JESC.
Participation in the competition
Cyprus took from 2003 to 2009 at each competition except in 2005 in part, as one withdrew because of allegations of plagiarism shortly before the competition, but was allowed to vote. The best place was achieved in 2004 and 2006 with 8th place. 2008, the contest was held on the south coast of the country in Limassol. After 2009, they did not return, but this would be almost 2013 have been the case: From host NTU and the EBU had received assurances support, but pulled it despite already ermitteltem contribution and performers back.
