Czech Republic national football team

The Czech national football team is formal successor of the Czechoslovak national football team, which still existed after the split of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia on 1 January 1993 until the end of 1993, up to the ( unsuccessful ) completion of the current qualifying round WM'94.

As a combined team of the Bohemian- Moravian Football Association the Czech team in 1994 was re-formed. Even at the European Football Championship in England in 1996, as one subject only in the extension of the final of the German team, celebrated the Czech team a success, biggest one. At the European Championships in 2000 and 2008, the team already retired in the first round, while it made ​​the semi-finals at the European Championships in 2004 and 2012, the quarter-finals.

For the 2006 World Cup, the Czech Republic could - after two relegation matches against Norway - first time to qualify for participation in a World Cup. In the tournament the team was eliminated in the first round.

As for Slovakia, FIFA considered for the Czech Republic, the results of the Czechoslovak team, as winning the European Football Championship in 1976, as well as reaching the finals of the World Championships in 1934 and 1962.

The national team for all European Championship finals qualify for and participated in the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany part since 1996.

Coach

The post of national coach paused to October 2009 Ivan Hašek, who also is also chairman of the Czech Football Association CMFs. Participations in FIFA World Cup

The Czech Republic was during to 1990 discharged Tournaments part of Czechoslovakia and introduced a variety of players for the national team in these tournaments (1934 and 1962 ) won twice the second place.
