Dalby Söderskog National Park

The National Park Dalby Söderskog is about 10 km east of the Swedish city of Lund, has a size of 36 hectares and was established in 1918.

Dalby Söderskog is a deciduous forest with a flora that is otherwise much further south to meet. The lime and chalk- rich top soil favors the vegetation. In the park ash, elm, oak and beech trees grow, but also maple, alder, lime, horse chestnut and sallow. In spring, the National Park is especially beautiful when the forest floor of wood anemones, buttercups, gold star and lesser celandine is covered.

Half of the park is surrounded by a peculiar and interesting mound, which is 56 meters wide and about 1 meter high. It is believed that it is the remains of an old refuge or settlement.

The National Park is within easy reach of Lund.
