Dmitry Berestov

Dmitri Vladimirovich Berestov (Russian: Дмитрий Владимирович Берестов; born June 13, 1980 in Moscow, Russia ) is a Russian weightlifter in the class to 105 kg.

Sporting career

International Berestov first drew attention to himself when he won two silver medals in the jerk and in a duel at the European Championships in 2004. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens he won surprisingly the gold medal in the class up to 105 kg due to the rather weak field occupy participants. After that, he played for various violations few competitions until he was transferred in the summer of 2006 of doping and received two years competition suspension. At the 2008 European Championships in Italy Berestovs expired lock, and he won despite only two valid tests gold in single combat and tearing, as well as bronze in the thrusting. Due to an injury, however, he was unable to attend the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
