Do They Know It 's Christmas? is a song by Band Aid in 1984, which was written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure.

Formation

The song was written in response to a report by Michael Buerk about the famine in Ethiopia, the British Broadcasting Corporation TV channel had aired on 15 November 1984. Publication and success
