Dompierre- les- Tileuls is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Dompierre- les- Tileuls is located on 836 m above sea level, approximately 13 km west-southwest of the town of Pontarlier (air line). The village is located in the Jura, in the midst of the broad plateaux of Arlier ( Pontarlier - Frasnian ), northwest of the Montagne du Laveron.

The area of ​​12.94 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The whole area is occupied by the plateau of Arlier, which is on average 850 m. It is mostly covered by meadows, but also shows some areas of forest and moorland. The plateau has no above-ground rivers, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground. History

The territory of Dompierre- les- Tileuls was already inhabited in prehistoric times, which could be demonstrated by means of excavations in the tumulus of Bossus. Attractions

The village church of Saint- Pierre et Saint -Paul came originally from the 12th century.
