Doniéber Alexander Marangon ( born October 22, 1979 in Jundiaí ), better known as Doni, is a Brazilian goalkeeper, who also has Italian citizenship. Since January 2013, he plays for Botafogo SP.

Career

Association

Doni was born in Jundiaí in the state of São Paulo. He began his professional career in 2000 in Botafogo Rio de Janeiro, where he played a single game. The following year he moved to Corinthians, where he played for three years. There he came to his first professional assignments. 2002 was won by winning the Torneio Rio - São Paulo and the Copa do Brasil, the Double. The following year the team won the state championship in São Paulo. 2004 signed the goalkeeper at FC Santos, a short time later at Cruzeiro before it soon drew him out to EC Juventude.

In 2005, Doni moved to other European countries, to AS Roma, where he sat on the bench for the time being. Dama Lige was number one Gianluca Curci, the Brazilian but should displace soon. With the team Doni won the 2007 and 2008 Coppa Italia. After the first success, the team secured even the Supercoppa Italiana. In 2008 he extended his contract until 2012. Soon after, after a few weaknesses and a messed-up match against Inter Milan, Doni lost his place to Artur Moraes. But he soon found his form again and won the trust of the Romans. With the beginning of season 2009/10 the club fired again on Moraes and Donis compatriot Júlio Sérgio Bertagnoli, who was in the club since 2006, as Doni failed already injured since April 2009. However, in October he returned and found himself in competition with Bertagnoli. So he came in that season only to a total of seven league bets.

On 15 July 2011, the English first division side FC Liverpool announced the commitment Donis.

On January 31, 2013 Doni moved back to his home to Botafogo SP.

National

For Brazil Doni in a friendly match against Turkey on 5 June 2007 was his debut. Since then he comes to irregular operations in the dress of his native country. In 2007 he was appointed national coach Carlos Dunga in the squad for the Copa America. There he received before Heurelho Gomes and the non- nominated Júlio César preference in goal for the Brazilians. Overall Doni came during the competition on six missions and could finally celebrate winning the tournament. In May 2010, he was, despite his lack of match practice in Rome, nominated in the levy of the Brazilians for the World Cup in South Africa.
