Doreen Denny

Doreen Denny is a former British figure skater who started in ice dancing.

Your Eistanzpartner was Courtney Jones. The pair won all the competitions in which it participated. In 1959 she was a reigning British Champion in Davos European Champion and World Champion in Colorado Springs. Your title she defended in 1960 at the European Championships in Garmisch -Partenkirchen and the World Championships in Vancouver. In 1961 she became European champion in Berlin again. It was her last competition since the World Series was canceled in 1961 in Prague after the plane crash of the U.S. team and Denny after the season was going to marry the Italian ice dancers Gianfranco Canepa.

Later, Denny worked as a trainer at the Broadmoor Skating Club in Colorado Springs. Among her pupils were Colleen O'Connor and Jim Millns, who won the Olympic bronze medal in ice dancing in 1976.

1982 Denny was her winning the World Cup 1959 tray stolen during a burglary. In 2010 she got it back.
