Gwendal Peizerat

Gwendal Peizerat (* April 21, 1972 in Bron, Rhone- Alpes ) is a former French figure skater who started ice dancing.

Career

Gwendal Peizerat is the son of an official of the French figure skating federation. He began to work with his two- year-old sister, at the age of four years with the figure skating. With the ice dancing, he began under the guidance of Murielle Boucher - Zazoui who trained him until the end of his career.

Peizerats first partner was Marina Morel, with which he and the bronze medal in the following year won the silver medal at the Junior World Championship in 1990.

After Morel 1992 had ended her career to Peizerat chose Marina Anissina as new Eistanzpartnerin. From the Russian ice skater and Junior World Champion, he had recently received a postal request, after she had seen him on video.

Anissina and Peizerat started for the CSG Lyon and represented France. She urged Peizerat, to concentrate fully on the ice dancing and his education, for which he had used half his time putting aside. Their first year was problematic and led almost to the end of the collaboration. Muriel Boucher - Zazoui felt the interaction of both yet from the beginning as promising. "They are like fire and ice ," she commented.

1994 debuted Anissina and Peizerat at World and European Championships. In 1998 they won their first medals. At the European Championships and the Olympic Games she won the bronze medal at the World Championships silver medal. Until her career in late 2002, they always reached the podium. In 1999, she was Vice - European Champion and Vice World Champion again before the Russians Anschelika Krylova and Oleg Ovsyannikov.
