Dorsze, EÅ‚k County

Dorsze [ dɔrʂɛ ] ( German cod ) is a scoring for community Kalinowo village in the northeastern Mazury in Polish Warmia and Mazury, powiat Ełcki.

The village is located nine kilometers northwest of the town Kalinowo ( German calligrapher Owen ), from there to reach about two forked roads, each then run for about a Piętki and Iwaśki, secondly through Marcinowo into the village.

The village has only 100 inhabitants. It is dominated by agriculture especially. In addition, there is a water plant.

History

The origin of the place name is not clear. Presumably he takes either with respect to the female name Dora, which would correspond to the neighboring villages as well by first name, or the also known as cod fish cod, but does not occur in regional waters.

The place name Dorsze immersed in the northeast of the Warmian -Masurian twice. Another Dorsze ( also German: cod, until 1926 only good cod ) is located in the district of Olecko, formerly district Gumbinnen.

The village of cod at Kalli Owen was the first time in 1553 Mentioned as the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order Prince Albrecht of Brandenburg -Ansbach, who later became the first Duke of Prussia, a contract under Magdeburg law -actuated, in which a Peter Black was responsible for the administration of the estate and for such taxes were listed.

Later, the estate came cod over several centuries in the possession of the Polish noble family Wierzbicki, which was recorded in 1772 by King Frederick II in the Prussian nobility.

May 27, 1874 District Kalli Owen was formed around cod in the course of a Prussian government reform new, which included the communities of Old Czymochen, cod, Went, Iwaschken, Kalli Owen, Kokosken, Kowahlen, Maaschen, Marczynowen, Pientken and Trentowsken.

From October 1914 battles of the First World War between German and Russian forces took place in the region, according to cod extended into it. Cod is thereby temporarily occupied Russian. Cod is about the only place in the area surrounding the former Kalli Owen, his old kept in 1938, heavily pursued Germanization Masurian place names, which is related probably to the outskirts of the village and get there remained strong Masurian ethnic group.

After the end of World War II in 1945 to the German Empire ( East Prussia ) was associated with cod to Poland, in the border to Polish region of Podlasie it was before. The resident population was German, if they had not fled, largely expelled after 1945 or resettled and in addition to the traditional Masurian minority by new residents from other parts of Poland, especially from the region Raczki originating in Podlasie replaced. The town was renamed in Dorsze.

From 1975 to 1998 belonged to Dorsze former Suwałki Voivodeship, then came 1999 on the newly formed Warmia and Mazury.

1978 were recorded in Dorsze only 117 inhabitants.

The inhabitants went in the following decades back further and is currently (2008) estimated at around 100.
