Dubovica

Dubovica (Hungarian Tarcadobó or older shortened Dobo ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 1504 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Sabinov, a circle of Prešov Region and is the traditional landscape Saris counted.

Geography

The municipality is located in the northwest part of the highlands highlands Šarišská the creek Dubovický Brook, a tributary of Torysa. The little more than 17 km ² municipal area is hilly and is bordered by the following neighboring cities: Renčišov, Dacov, Lipany and Rožkovany. The center is located at an altitude of 420 m nm only two kilometers south of the city Lipany and is also 14 km of roads and 31 kilometers by road from Sabinov of Prešov away.

The municipality also includes Petro Vence (Hungarian Pétermező ), one integrated in Dubovica in the 19th century village.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1278 as Dombomezew writing.
