Krivany
Krivany ( until 1948 slovak " Kriviany "; Hungarian Krivány ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 1225 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Sabinov, a circle of Prešov Region as well as the traditional landscape Saris.
Geography
The community is located at the transition from the mountains Levočské mountains in the intermediate mountains Šarišské medzihorie. About 350 meters south flows the Torysa which increases three streams from the village here. The center is located at an altitude of 426 m nm and is 16 kilometers away from Sabinov.
History
The town was first mentioned in writing in 1301. 1828 are listed 140 houses and 1,075 inhabitants.
In 1956, the municipality Pusté Pole was carved.

Structures
- Roman Catholic Church, originally rebuilt in Gothic style in the 18th century
- Dessewfy - country castle from the year 1635 in the Romanesque style, unused today
- Stone water mill dating from the 18th century
- Memorial House of the writer Jolana Cirbusová (1884-1940), who wrote, among other things in the local dialect
