The Dürr Group is a global automotive supplier. The company was founded in 1895 in Cannstatt by Paul Dürr ( 1871-1936 ) since the January 4, 1990 listed on the Stock Exchange ( MDAX ). History

The company's history began in 1895 with the establishment of a Bauklempnerei in Cannstatt by Paul Dürr. 1917, the operation was extended to sheet metal processing. 1932 Paul Dürr gave the company to his son Otto Dürr, who set up a design office.

In 1950, work began on construction, it creates a system for the chemical surface treatment. 1963 Dürr installed at Ford's Genk plant, the first plant for electrophoretic dip coating. 1964 and 1966 subsidiaries were established in Brazil and Mexico.

1978 Dürr expanded his business on the areas of automation and conveyor technology. 1989 Dürr public. The Dürr Group operates in four business segments in the market: Paint and Assembly Systems division designs and builds complete paint shops and Endmontagwerke for the automotive industry. Application Technology provides with their robot technologies for automated paint application. Machinery and systems from the Measuring and Process Systems division are used in engine and transmission manufacturing and in final vehicle assembly. The fourth division, Clean Technology Systems, is focused on processes to improve energy efficiency and on exhaust air purification.

In its divisions Dürr is one of the world's market leaders with an average market share of 30 % to 50 percent. About 80 percent of the turnover is generated abroad. Dürr 2013 31 own production and assembly sites and a sales and service network with 48 locations in 21 countries.
