Honor Churches is a community about 13 kilometers south of Freiburg im Breisgau, at the edge of the Markgräferland.

Geography
The municipality is located in the Upper Rhine Plain in 215-916 meters altitude and next covers the southern areas of the chunk of the mountain, Schneckentals, Hohfirsts and Hexentals. The eastern parts of the district are mostly wooded and located in the Black Forest.
Community structure
Churches honor consists of the combined on 1 April 1973 former municipalities Ehrenstetten ( Alemannic Ehrestette ) and Kirchhofen ( Alem Chilchhofe ). On 1 January 1974 was Offnadingen ( Alem Offnadige ) Scherzingen ( Alem Scherzige ) and on October 1, 1974 incorporated Norsingen ( Alem Norschige ) on 1 April 1974. The municipality Ehrenstetten within the limits of 30 March 1973, the village Ehrenstetten, the hamlet Gütighofen ( Alem Güetighofe ) include (partly also to Bollschweil ), the courtyards Felsenmühle, Kohler yards and Lettenhof and the living space Rear Had mill. For the former municipality Kirchhofen the village and the hamlets Kirchhofen Oberambringen include ( Alem Oberambrige ) and Unterambringen ( Alem Underambrige ) as a new district came after 2000 the industrial area west of Niedermatten Unterambringen added. Among the former municipalities Norsingen, Offnadingen and Scherzingen each include only the villages of the same name. In the district Ehrenstetten are the disposed villages Hartberg and Wolfsberg. In the district Kirchhofen are the disposed villages Edighofen which may be identical to the dialed Egishofen and Seringen and Zeringgraben. History
As early as the Stone Age lived in the " devil food" mentioned caves at Gütighofen people. Attaching, now part of Kirchhofen was mentioned in 881. History Norsingen
Alemannische ups on Batzenberg indicate an early settlement Norsingens. The first written record comes from the year 1242. History Scherzingen
Alemannic grave findings also pointed to an early settlement Scherzingens. The first mention of Scherzingen dates from the year 1111. Scersingen The place was then called. Today Scherzingen consists mostly of old houses in the old French style, as French when the French Revolution began, fled and settled there. The agreement on the merger of Ehrenstetten and Kirchhofen was determined that for future community a new coat of arms is to be created. As the new name, which is composed of the name elements of the two main parts of municipalities, even this coat of arms was created by merging the previous coat of arms images. It incorporates parts of the coat of arms of Ehrenstetten and Kirchhofen and in a broader sense of Scherzingen and comes at the same time to a major economic feature, geographical location and history of the community summary statement: In all districts is on the slopes of Batzenberg, Kirchberg and the Mount of Olives, which are symbolized by the three mountain since ancient viticulture operated.
