El Paraíso Department

El Paraíso is one of the 18 departments in Honduras in Central America. The Spanish name of the department translates to " paradise ".

The capital of the department is Yuscarán to the west of El Paraíso. El Paraíso has an external border with Nicaragua in the south.

The result is the department of El Paraíso in 1878 by a secession from the former Department of Tegucigalpa.
