Elvin Hayes

Elvin Ernest Hayes ( born November 17, 1945 in Rayville, Louisiana ) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played on the positions of forward and center. From 1968 to 1984 Hayes played in the U.S. professional league NBA, including with the San Diego Rockets and Washington Bullets. In 1969 he was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie Team. With the Bullets Hayes won the 1978 NBA championship. Hayes is one of the best players of the 1970s. He was nominated 1969-1980 twelve times for the NBA All-Star Game. With 27 313 points, it is number 8 of the most successful NBA player. Elvin Hayes was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990.
