Eric Chouinard
Éric Chouinard ( born July 8, 1980 in Atlanta, Georgia ) is a Canadian- American professional ice hockey player and the son of former NHL player Guy Chouinard, who was most recently at the Nuremberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract.
Career
After 296 points in 180 games with the Quebec Remparts in the Quebec Major Junior League Canadian Junior Hockey League, the center in the NHL Entry Draft, was selected in 1998 in the first round to draft 16th overall position of the Montreal Canadiens. After his time with the Canadiens and their farm team, the Quebec citadels of the AHL the links Sagittarius also played for the Philadelphia Flyers and the Minnesota Wild, where he ran aground in the season 2003/ 04, together with his cousin Marc Chouinard. The lockout of the NHL season 2004/ 05 spent at the Chouinard EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Hockey League.
For the season 2006/ 07 changed the Canadians, who also owns the U.S. citizenship due to his birthplace in Atlanta, where his father was standing in the NHL on the ice, in the second-class Swiss National League B to HC Sierre- Anniviers and then to Russia Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Here, however, the attacker was due to an injury to any application and signed mid-season 2006/ 07 a contract with the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. In the season 2007/ 08 Chouinard was selected by the Hockey Hockey News magazine for the sixth- best center in the DEL.
On 19 January 2009, the Straubing Tigers announced the suspension Chouinard. This was preceded by permanent tension between player and club.
From the season 2009/10 until the end of the 2012/13 season was Chouinard at the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers Nuremberg under contract.
