Esternberg

Ester is a municipality in the district in Schärding Innviertel in Upper Austria with 2894 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Schärding.

Geography

Esternberg is located on 510 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 8.2 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 7.4 km. The total area is 40.3 km ². This makes it the largest municipality in the district Schärding. 43.4 % of the area is forested, 46.9 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, it belongs since 1814 finally to Upper Austria. Explanation: The main motif is reminiscent of the legend of the tailor of Castle Krempelstein (Schneider Schlössl ). Culture and sights

  • The Football Club Union sports club Esternberg (SVE ) was founded on July 20, 1952. The home games of the SVE will be played at Heinz Stadium Ertl, which was named after the founding member and current president Heinz Ertl. The biggest success was the Upper Austrian State League championship in 1996 and the consequent rise in the Regionalliga Mitte ( third highest league in Austria ). Currently the club plays in the Upper Austrian Provincial League West (5th power class ). The youth department of the SVE organized for all ages at youth level since 1991, each turn of the year the Jugendhallencup in Bezirkssporthalle warping thing. With now nine days of the tournament and over 200 teams participating each year, this is one of the largest youth tournaments in Austria. Among the guests were already teams from 15 nations such as Brazil, China, Germany, Denmark, England, France, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Hungary.
  • The volleyball club VC Esternberg was established under the initiative of Heinz Zauner 1976. The greatest successes of the Ladies (1990) and men's team (1991 ) were each the Upper Austrian Championship title.

Public institutions

  • Austrian Red Cross: The RK local Telle Esternberg was founded in 1995.
  • District nursing home Esternberg: was built by the welfare association warping thing as a builder and has been open since April 1, 2008
  • In 2013 a new waste collection center was built by the District Waste Management Association warping thing.

Education

In Esternberg there is also a branch of the School of Music Münzkirchen. This branch was set up in the former post office building.
