Euro Hockey Trophy

The Euro Hockey Trophy was on 21 -24. April 2011 held in the Italian capital Rome. It forms the first substructure for Euro Hockey League. The clubs played next to the title also points to its national association in the EHF -3 -year rating which determines the number of clubs a nation for the European Cup competitions.

The starting positions for the Trophy were awarded on the one hand by the EHF -3- year ranking. Thus France lost its second place in the EHL, whereby the second French representative in the Trophy started. Italy and Switzerland did not get a starting place in the EHL more, so that their national champions competed in the Trophy. On the other hand, were due to good results last year's participants Trophy champion of Belarus and Ukraine, and Russia's second starter in the EHL play.

The integration with the third-tier Euro Hockey Challenge I is a climb and descent control. The second starter of Switzerland and Wales reached at last year's Trophy only the two last places seven and eight and went from hence in the Challenge. For advanced the winner of the Challenge, the Austrian master, and the finalist, the Czech champions, in the Trophy.

The three remaining representatives remained unchanged to the previous year: Welsh champion, second European Cup starters from Scotland and Italy.
