Eva Kurfürstová

Eva Kurfürstová ( born August 30, 1977 in Opava) is a Czech skier. She specializes in the technical disciplines slalom and giant slalom.

Biography

Kurfürstovás first major international events were the World Junior Championships in 1994 and 1996. The best results they achieved this second 17 places in the slalom in 1994 and 1996 and ranked eleventh in the combined score of 1994. In the European Cup they first came on 13 December 1996 with ninth in the giant slalom of Saint Sebastian in the top ten and two years later in the slalom in Spindleruv Mlyn for the first time into the top five. Your first and only European Cup victory she celebrated on 5 January 2006 in the slalom in Lenzerheide. The next day she came in the second slalom behind the Norwegian Nina Løseth in second place. With four other top-10 results she reached the fourth place in the slalom and overall standings so far her best result in a European Cup discipline rating in the 2005/06 season.

In the Czech World Cup started for the first time in January 1995. It took over ten years to the giant slalom in Spindleruv Mlyn, accommodating 28 won her first World Cup points in their already 54 World Cup races, on 21 December 2005. In the season 2005/ 06 this remained their only points to date, there are the only ones that she won in a World Cup giant slalom. The only World Cup points in the following season 2006/ 07 she took with rank 21 in the slalom in Aspen. In the 2007 /08 season Kurfürstová came in four World Cup slalom race in the points. My best ever World Cup result was the 20th place in the slalom on Aspen on December 9, 2007. During the following years she stayed back with no World Cup points.

Since 1996 Kurfürstová was in every world championship in at least one discipline at the start. With its total of 13 starts she came in 6 races in the championship. Her best result was the 18th place in the slalom of the 2001 World Championships in St. Anton am Arlberg. In 2002 and 2006 she also took part in the Winter Olympics. 2002 Salt Lake City it was as each best Czech 21st in slalom and giant slalom and 23 in Turin in 2006 they made ​​it to number 28 in the slalom.
