Faces (Band)

Faces (sometimes called The Faces ) are a British rock band who in 1969 emerged from the Small Faces after Steve Marriott left the group to form the band Humble Pie. The new band members Ron Wood (guitar) (ex -The- Birds - not to be confused with The Byrds -, The Creation and Jeff Beck Group ) and Rod Stewart ( vocals) (ex - Steam Packet, Jeff Beck Group ) came to the remaining Small Faces Ronnie Lane ( bass), Ian McLagan (keyboards) and Kenney Jones (drums).

By constant tours, especially in the U.S. and Canada, the Group acquired quickly earned a reputation as a good live group.

Alcohol consumption and the antics of Faces sat often continued on the stage. Thus, the group dismantled in 1975 in Lakeland (Florida ) to set up their hotel room from anger that the bar had already closed 2:00 clock at night ( departure but they deposited a check with the amount of compensation).

The most successful songs were the Faces Stay With Me, Had Me A Real Good Time and Cindy incidentally. On Rod Stewart's solo LPs had the faces of hits like It's All Over Now, Maggie May, (I Know) I'm Losing You among others. As Rod Stewart's solo career has been more successful than the Faces, the Faces were the backing of their singer. Ronnie Lane rose in the spring of 1973, shortly after publication of the last studio LP Ooh La La, according to internal squabbles from. He was replaced by bassist Tetsu Yamauchi Japanese.

After the last tour, the band broke up in 1975.

The individual band members went different ways: Wood went to the Rolling Stones; Lane founded Slim Chance and had a modest solo career; Jones moved after the death of Keith Moon of The Who; Ian "Mac" McLagan was a studio musician. Rod Stewart is now a successful solo artist.

Reunion

For 2009, Ron Wood, Kenney Jones, Ian MacLagan and Rod Stewart had planned a worldwide reunion tour. Due to scheduling difficulties Stewarts those plans were dashed, however. In early 2010 announced Ronnie Wood, that he again wanted to appear as The Faces with a new cast. The tour should take place in 2011. On 25 May 2010 it was announced that Mick Hucknall, formerly his frontman for Simply Red, new singer of the re-established Faces and Glen Matlock will take over the bass. For tour announced it initially did not, but the band played some festivals in 2010 and 2011.
