Finnish League Cup

The Finnish League Cup in Finland Liigacup, is a football competition in Finland.

History

The competition was first held in 1994, at the time HJK Helsinki won the title. Until 2000, the Cup has been played annually. Between 2001 and 2003, sat out the competition. Since 2004, the Finnish League Cup is played every year again.

In his Erstaustragung the Cup was played after the end of the season, since the second competition before the season starts. Record winner with four titles is HJK Helsinki.

Mode

The 14 teams in the First Division are divided into two groups of seven teams. The teams compete in each of the groups once each against each other. The top four of the two groups will qualify for the quarter-finals. In the Cup mode, the winner of the competition will be determined.
