Flavia Rigamonti

Flavia Rigamonti (born 1 July 1981 in Breganzona ) is a Swiss swimmer.

Career

Your parade routes are the 800 m and 1500 m freestyle, where she was repeatedly successful at World and European Championships. The Swiss Sports Aid Foundation drew out as a junior athlete of the year 1997.

Rigamonti won the 2007 one silver medal at the World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka in 2001, Montreal in 2005 and Melbourne. Of the five Swiss medal wins at World Swimming Championships go thus alone three on their account.

In the final of the 1500 m freestyle at the 2007 World Championships she broke the European record and swam the distance for the first time in under 16 minutes. The record held until 16 July 2008 when Alessia Filippi again improved it by 2.54 seconds 15:52,84 min. On 23 March 2008, she won the gold medal over 1500 m freestyle at the European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven.
