Lotte Friis

Lotte Friis ( born February 9, 1988 in Hørsholm ) is a Danish swimmer on the long freestyle distances.

Friis won her first international medal winning the title in the 800 meters freestyle at the European Short Course European Championships 2007 in Debrecen. A year later, she won the bronze medal over 1500 meters freestyle at the European Championships in Eindhoven. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing she won bronze in the 800 meters freestyle. 2009 in Rome she became world champion in the 800 meters freestyle and won a silver medal over 1500 meters.

The Short Course European Championships 2009 in Istanbul Friis was about 800 meters freestyle Europe and about 400 meters freestyle Vice - European Champion. She then won the election to Denmark's Sportswoman of the Year in 2009 against the Table Tennis European Champion Michael Maze, as well as the tennis player and U.S. Open finalist Caroline Wozniacki. The same medals she won at the European Championships on the short track in 2011 and 2012.

Their most successful championships played Lotte Friis at the 2010 European Championships in Budapest when she became European champion in the 800 and 1500 meter freestyle and also won the bronze medal over 400 meters. In the 2012 Olympics she won a medal, over 400 and 800 meters freestyle, she finished fourth or fifth. In 2013 she won the silver medal each on the 800 at the World Championships in Barcelona - and 1,500 - meter course.
