Football 7-a-side at the 2008 Summer Paralympics

In the Summer Paralympics in Beijing in 2008 a gold medal was awarded in a competition in the 7-a- football. The decisions were taken between 8 and 16 September 2008. The venue was the Olympic Green Hockey Field, home to the also found the Olympic hockey tournaments.

Classification

In each game pits two teams of six field players, one goalkeeper and three substitutes. All players are among the disabled classes C5 to C8, which are characterized by difficulty walking and paralysis. Unless at least one player in the class C5 or C6 stands on the field, the team must play with 6 players. Also, do not more than three C8 players per team are at the same time on the field. A game consists of two halves of 30 minutes each. If, after 60 minutes of a tie, although a winner must be absolutely determined, followed by two extensions of 10 minutes each. Game Mode

The teams initially started with a group stage with two groups in which everyone plays against everyone. Then the winners and the runners of each group came on and played in the knockout system against each other. The remaining teams were playing for the 5th to 8th places
