Football at the Pan American Games

Football belongs at the Pan American Games to the sports that were constantly in the Games program since 1951. Participants were the national football teams organized in associations of FIFA CONCACAF and CONMEBOL. The tournament is held every four years. Since 1999, a tournament in women's football will take place. Since the tournament games in 1991 was for the men's team, analogous to the arrangement in the Olympic football tournament, an age restriction of 23, 2007 20 and 2011 21 years of age. The team from South America occurred in 2003 and 2007 U-20 to U- 17 teams.
