Francis Maude

Francis Anthony Aylmer Maude ( born July 4, 1953 in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, Berkshire ) is a British politician and since May 2010 Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Paymaster General.

Biography

Maude, son of politician Angus Maude, the Paymaster was between 1979 and 1981 also General, holds a degree in law at Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford and then worked as a lawyer.

His political career began when he was elected in 1983 as a candidate of the Conservative Party member of the House of Commons, in which he the constituency of North Warwickshire represented until 1992.

He was Minister for Europe at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the government of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 1989. Between 1990 and 1992 he was Financial Secretary ( Financial Secretary ) to the Treasury (Treasury). In 1992 he lost his House seat, he resigned from the government.

In 1997 he was again elected a member of the House and represents there ever since the constituency of Horsham. In 1998 he was in the shadow cabinet of the Conservative Chancellor of the Exchequer and then Foreign Minister in 2000. He held until 2001 this office.

Between 2005 and 2007, was Maude Chairman ( Chairman ) of the Conservative Party. Since June 2007, he was Minister for the Cabinet Office in the Conservative Shadow Cabinet and Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.

After the electoral victory of the Conservative Party in the general election in 2010 he was appointed to the Advanced Government on 11 May 2010 by Prime Minister David Cameron as Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Paymaster General ( Paymaster General ) and participates in this function in the Cabinet.
