Fredy Guarín

Fredy Alejandro Guarín Vásquez (* June 30, 1986 in Puerto Boyacá ) is a Colombian football player, currently at Inter Milan as a midfielder under contract. He is a versatile player who can play to its strengths, especially in the central or right midfield.

Career

In the club

His career began in 2002 at the Guarín Colombian club Envigado FC. In 2005 he moved on loan to the Argentine top club CA Boca Juniors, where he was but initially used mainly in the youth team. During this time, however, was settled Guarín players in the various youth teams of the Colombian national football team.

AS Saint- Étienne

At the end of the loan period, 2006, the CA Boca Juniors Guarín tried to bind the longer term but it decided to change to a French club AS Saint- Étienne, again on loan.

Inter Milan

January 31, 2012 Inter Milan announced the signing of Guarín on loan. After the loan was a purchase option with contract until 30 June 2016. His debut celebrated April 1, 2012 at 5:4 home victory over Genoa when he came on in the 59th minute for Dejan Stanković.

In May 2012, the purchase option has been removed. Inter Milan paid to FC Porto a transfer fee in the amount of 11 million euros. On August 30, 2012 Guarín scored against FC Vaslui after a solo from the midfield line his first competitive goal for Inter.

In May 2014, the Colombian signed a new contract until 30 June 2017.

In the National Team

Guarín participated with the Colombian national football team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2005 in the USA, but was there not used. On May 25, 2006, they played Guarín the first time at international level for the first Colombian national football team, and indeed in a preparatory game for the World Cup 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador (final score 1:1).

In the summer of 2011 with Colombia Guarín took part in the Copa América in Argentina and denied to the resignation of his team in the quarterfinals against Peru all the games of Colombia.
