Frosolone

Frosolone is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3197 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Isernia in Molise. The community is located approximately 17.5 kilometers east of Isernia and directly borders the province of Campobasso.

History

The municipality is located in Samnite - Oscan settlement area and has been inhabited since ancient times. In the village there are some Civitelle Megalithreste. Before the earthquake of 1806 Frosolone was one of the most important centers of Molise.

Economy and Transport

In the village there is a strong multi-MW wind farm. From Cantalupio del Sannio by the municipality after Castropignano leads the former State Road 618 Molesana.
