Macchiagodena

Macchiagodena is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1893 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Isernia in Molise. The municipality is situated approximately kilometers east of Isernia and directly borders the province of Campobasso. Macchiagodena is part of the Comunità montana del Sannio.

History

964 the village was first mentioned in documents as Maccia de Godena. Originally it was a fortified complex between the counties of Isernia and Boiano.
